"Ignorance of Scripture, is ignorance of Christ."

~St. Jerome

The Setting Apart Podcast is about us being true to who we are: we are made set-apart from above -- to live out the fullness of Christian life deeply and wholeheartedly.

And on it you will find all things from my personal journey looking through the lens of Faith – as I open up my vulnerability so that, by the Grace of God, my brokenness may be healed.

You should listen because we are not perfect, but we can be Perfected in Love. In your desert moment, may you find comfort in the camaraderie the show provides – where you will find a deposit of nourishment & enlightenment to egg you on in yours; or simply an encouraging voice to let you know that: “Hey, you know what? You are not alone!” Let’s do this together.

* Episode 1 was launched on April 1, 2021 (Thursday),and thereafter bi-weekly on every other Thursday.

Why the Podcast?

The Setting Apart Podcast is created partly with a goal to hold myself accountable to praying with Holy Scriptures regularly, and partly to share my stories in hopes of encouraging others to follow suit - to get to know God better, and to experience the Fullness of God's Love for us.

Every story is a personal reflection based on the Scripture reading that inspires and touches me, where I get to share the "ups" and the "downs" in my walk with Christ.

Get to know God, by contemplating His attributes.

~ St Faustina

How is it done?

Biblical interpretations follow the guidelines as set-forth in the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC #101-117). The Magisterium Church is the authority.

“The New Testament has to be read in the light of the Old,” the Church tells us “As an old saying put it, the New Testament lies hidden in the Old and the Old Testament is unveiled in the New” (CCC #129).

Thereafter using Lectio Divina, I contemplate on how the Word of God speaks to me on my day-to-day experience - my struggle, my exuberance, my agony, my sorrow & joy, etc. And I share the reflection of my intimate thoughts and conversation with God in the podcast.

Who am I?

Just a regular dude who has fallen head-over-heels in love with Sacred Scriptures. In particular, the richness of the Word of God provides an enlightening glimpse into the fullness of God's love for everyone.

Getting to know Christ ... is getting to know Love.

A finance professional by trade, a University finance adjunct faculty member by invitation; serving as a lector at the Church of St. Bernadette in Singapore by grace.

Whoever fails to love does not know God, because God is Love.

~ 1 John 4:8

“True love hurts. It always must hurt. It has to be painful to love someone; painful to leave him, you would like to die for him. When people marry, they have to give up everything in order to love each other. A mother who gives life to a child suffers much. The word ‘love’ is misunderstood and misused so much.”

~ St Teresa of Calcutta
